A patented fire service tool that is designed to bypass compromised and/or inoperable standpipe systems (or to add improvised standpipes where needed).  

It will also function as a ground monitor which is superior to the existing ground monitor and is virtually indestructible.  Once in place, can be unmanned.

It will provide sustained water delivery without requiring continuous firefighter operation.  

It is made from heavy-gauge aluminum.  The EPST creates a secure, heavy duty bomb-proof system to establish a portable standpipe system.  Comes with webbing and rigging of its own.  Includes mallets.  Includes training materials.

The EPST is a device/tool that is solid and heavy duty.  It clamps around a 2.5" or 3" fire hose that can either be used as a:  ground monitor, hoisted to a mid-rise, or the upper levels of a high-rise building to establish an improvised portable standpipe.  It can by-pass a non-working standpipe, or add resources to a fire event.  Excellent choice for train derailments, haz-mat operations, and other special op's calls.  Don't get caught unprepared.  This has use on every truck.  The best life insurance to get water on a fire quickly.  Set it up, get your crew out of the hazardous or toxic operation, and allow them to set up more External Portable Standpipes in other areas to attack the fire from multiple zones quickly.  

Why is this tool needed? The intent of this tool is act as back up and/or a plan "B " or to add improvised standpipes in addition to existing standpipes. 

Mid-rise and high-rise buildings are equipped with a stand pipe system or are supposed to be. 

In reality, many buildings do not have a standpipe system or sometimes these systems malfunction. 

The EPST provides a means to deploy an improvised portable standpipe in these buildings. 

It can be used as a ground monitor.

It can be used to add resources via crane, cable, or other line, with a pulley, between structures or marine vessels or oil rig fires to quickly extinguish a fire, and once set up, be manned, or unmanned.
